Juroviesky and Ricci LLP - Nortel Announcement

TORONTO, May 28, 2009 - On May 20, 2009 the Honourable Justice Morawetz ruled on the Motions to Appoint Representative Counsel for the Canadian Nortel Terminated Employees which were heard in Toronto on April 20-21, 2009. While we argued vigorously to obtain a representation order on your behalf, Justice Morawetz appointed Koskie Minsky LLP as the sole representative counsel for all current, former and terminated Canadian Nortel Employees. We anticipate receiving Justice Morawetz's reasons for his decision on May 26, 2009 and we will provide a link to those reasons on our website when we receive them.

We are disappointed in Justice Morawetz's decision not to grant the Nortel Terminated Canadian Employees a separate representation order. However, given the court's decision and pursuant to the terms of its Retainer Agreement, Juroviesky and Ricci LLP has terminated its relationship with the Steering Committee for the Nortel Terminated Canadian Employees and has informed its its former clients that Koskie Minsky LLP is available to represent them in the Nortel CCAA proceedings. A formal letter of disengagement has been emailed to all the terminated Nortel employees that retained Juroviesky and Ricci advising them of these events and notifying them that Juroviesky and Ricci LLP will no longer be representing them in the Nortel CCAA proceedings. Similarly, we have notified counsel for the Monitor that we will no longer be representing any party in these proceedings.
